David Vonk
Senior Cybersecurity Inspector
Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management
Biography
I started my first project for ERTMS infrastructure in highschool, when I was 16. The love for the rail sector stayed, later resulting in my working on two extensive research projects for the Dutch Railways lasting a total of 3 years. After a brief intermission in IT-auditing, I am now partially back in the rail sector as a senior inspector for the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management of the Netherlands. Our department, cybersecurity inspections, is currently a NIS competent authority, responsible for inspecting the Dutch transport and water sectors. We will be a NIS2 competent authority when the Netherlands implements NIS2.
