Innovations, Threats, and Resilience

As aviation becomes increasingly connected, the convergence of IT and OT systems, coupled with AI, IoT, cloud, and digital transformation, has created new and evolving attack surfaces for cyber threats. Legacy systems, third-party dependencies, and heightened regulatory scrutiny have intensified the need for a coordinated, proactive defense strategy.

๐Ÿšจ Why This Discussion is Critical:
โœˆ๏ธ Converging IT & OT risks โ€“ As operational technology (OT) systems become digitally connected, aviation faces heightened exposure to cyber-physical threats that could disrupt flight operations, airport infrastructure, and aircraft control systems.
โœˆ๏ธ AI-driven threats & automation challenges โ€“ While AI enhances security capabilities, it also presents new vulnerabilities, including automated attack strategies and adversarial AI risks.
โœˆ๏ธ Regulatory compliance & evolving frameworks โ€“ With the introduction of EASAโ€™s PART-IS, alongside global directives like ICAO cybersecurity frameworks and EASAโ€™s broader security initiatives, aviation organizations must now align security strategies with stricter regulatory expectations.
โœˆ๏ธ Supply chain & third-party security concerns โ€“ The aviation ecosystem is highly interdependent, with airlines, airports, manufacturers, and service providers facing cross-industry cyber risks that threaten business continuity and passenger safety.
โœˆ๏ธ Cloud, IoT, and next-gen attack surfaces โ€“ As the industry modernizes, the move to cloud-based operations, IoT-enabled aircraft, and smart airport infrastructure creates new cybersecurity challenges that must be addressed.

๐Ÿ“ข The Cyber Senateโ€™s Aviation Cybersecurity 2025 Summit will bring together industry leaders, CISOs, and security professionals to tackle these pressing challenges.

I recently attended the Aviation Cybersecurity Conference hosted by Cyber Senate in London.

The event was truly inspiring and provided invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of aviation cybersecurity.

The conference featured a diverse range of topics, including AI-based security, threat intelligence, supply chain risks, the challenges of securing legacy systems, IT/OT risks, the balance between maximizing opportunities and mitigating risks, the endless regulation impacts and more.

The round table discussions were particularly insightful, highlighting the importance of collaboration and information sharing among industry stakeholders.

It was evident that the aviation industry faces increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The presentations and discussions emphasized the need for proactive measures to mitigate risks and protect critical infrastructure.

Many thanks to the organizers Jamison Nesbitt for creating such a stimulating environment ๐Ÿ™

The networking opportunities were exceptional, allowing me to connect with industry cyber leaders, I look forward to continuing these valuable discussions and working together to address the complex challenges facing aviation cybersecurity. โœˆ๏ธโœˆ๏ธ

Was a great pleasure to be invited to join a speaker panel to discuss cyber and business strategic risks inherent in the convergence of IT and OT at the Cyber Senete Aviation Cybersecurity Conference in Kensington, London this week. It was an true honour to meet and speak with so many leaders and experts across the global aviation industry.

Thanks to Jamison Nesbitt for the production and all presenters and my fellow panellists for their outstanding contributions over an excellent, information-packed 2 day event

โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿ”’ Aviation Cyber Senate in London

On November 19-20, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Aviation Cybersecurity Senate in London.

The event brought together industry professionals from airlines, airports, OEMs, cyber consultants, and beyond to discuss one of the most critical challenges in our field: cybersecurity in aviation.

The conferences were a deep dive into emerging trends, key threats, and innovative solutions for safeguarding our skies. ๐Ÿš€ It was also a privilege to exchange ideas with passionate experts and build connections with like-minded professionals.

A huge thank you to the organizers for making this event possible! Jamison Nesbitt

Victor Lallemand, Alcimed

What an incredible experience at the Cyber Senate Aviation Cybersecurity Show in London! The two-day seminar was filled with valuable insights, especially from industry leaders and key stakeholders who are truly shaping the future of aviation cybersecurity.

Although our organisation is relatively small compared to some of the big names present, weโ€™ve come a long way, overcoming challenges and achieving key certifications in the cybersecurity domain with exceptional results. This event reinforced my belief that collaboration across all stakeholders in the aviation sector is essential. By working together rather than in silos, we can achieve even greater results and drive innovation and resilience within the industry.

A big thank you to the organisers, speakers, and participants for making this event so impactful. Looking forward to continued growth and technical partnerships as we navigate the evolving landscape of cybersecurity together.
